Recognition in Malaysia
Accounting. The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) does not directly recognise foreign accounting degrees. The usual routes to MIA membership for a graduate from abroad are:
- a professional qualification such as ACCA, then MIA membership with the required practical experience, or
- the MIA Qualifying Examination, if MIA accepts the degree.
That is why the ACCA link in Vistula’s Finance and Accounting degree matters. We check the exact exemptions for your intake with ACCA.
IT and general recognition. The Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) assesses foreign degrees case by case.
Global Recognition
- Finance and Accounting programmes were positively evaluated by the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) in 2021; Computer Science in 2020.
- Vistula states it holds ACCA accreditation for Finance and Accounting, and CIMA accreditation with exemptions from selected CIMA exams.
Programmes
Finance and Accounting with ACCA (BA)
- 3 years, taught in English.
- Vistula’s current programme page says graduates receive credit for four of the nine ACCA Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills exams, with the rest taken individually. Older pages claim more. We confirm the exemptions with ACCA before you enrol.
Computer Engineering (BEng)
- 3.5 years (7 semesters), taught in English. This is Vistula’s main English-taught IT degree.
- Includes 960 hours of practical placements and preparation for Microsoft and Oracle certification exams.
Entry Requirements
- Secondary school certificate with a sworn Polish translation and apostille or legalisation.
- Malaysian certificates need formal recognition in Poland, and Malaysian applicants also sit the university’s entry exam.
- English at B2 level (IELTS or TOEFL; the university’s pages give different minimum scores, so we confirm the current one).
Teaching Hospitals and Facilities
The campus is in Ursynów, Warsaw, next to a metro station.
Student Life
- Warsaw has about 1.9 million people. Average temperatures are −1.5 °C in January and 20 °C in July.
Student visa
- Malaysians need a Polish national (D) visa for studies, applied for in person at the Embassy of Poland in Kuala Lumpur after booking through e-Konsulat.
- Apply no earlier than 6 months and no later than 15 days before travel. The decision normally takes up to 15 days.
- The checklist includes the admission letter, proof of tuition payment, your legalised school certificate (with the Polish recognition decision for first-year students), accommodation, travel medical insurance and proof of funds.
- Proof of funds must be a statement from a Polish or EU bank, not a Malaysian bank, unless you use one of the alternatives the embassy accepts.
- After arrival you apply for a temporary residence permit. Full-time students with a study visa or residence permit may work without a separate work permit.
Getting There
Fly to Warsaw Chopin Airport. There is no direct flight from Kuala Lumpur; the usual route is one stop via Doha, Dubai or Istanbul.
